Private Military Cap Badges & Medal collection

 

The collection was formed over the last 40 years and the owner was buying from reputable dealers, auctioneers and privately. There are 93 lot which include a vast amount of badges which we have left on the boards, representing, British, Canadian, other Commonwealth countries etc and several lots include an of average 40 to 80 badges with tempting
estimates of £200-300 per lot.

 

There are also some good individual lots, for example, Victorian Lancer cap plates of 9th and 21st Lancers (Estimate £400-500 each), many Last Shako plates including 105th (Madras Light Infantry) Foot (estimate £200-300), rare badges such as The Gloucestershire Regiment Officer's forage badge (£150-200), Guards Machine Gun Battalion, dated 1917 (£100-150) and Gordon Highlanders glengarry badge (£100-150).

 

The collection also deviates in as much as the owner has collected American, Canadian and British cloth badges, all presented in ring binder files, there are several lots each with approx. 200 badges (£100-150 per lot), plus various Victorian and Edwardian Home Service helmets, many of the Officer's including Loyal North Lancashire Regiment (£400-600).

 

The collection is being sold on Friday 9 November without reserve and there has been a huge amount of interest from around the globe. There is also a good amount of early aviation memorabilia from other properties including Royal Flying Corps, Royal Air Force and Luftwaffe as well as edged weapons, medals and uniforms.
