Free valuation days are held every Monday and Friday at the saleroom, 9:30am - 5:30 pm. Please contact the office to make an appointment as these days are very popular and can get very busy. Sometimes delays are unavoidable but there is always a seat available as well as tea and coffee.
Email Valuations: We are happy to respond to email enquiries. Please send a list of the books that you have for disposal, stating author, title and date. At a later stage it might be helpful to receive some images of the individual volumes and a picture or two of the books on the shelves or in the bookcase can also help to give us a better idea of what we are dealing with. Please ensure the images you send do not exceed 5MB in size, per email.
We will respond to email enquiries as soon as we can, this may be within a few hours or a few days, or even a week or two. Please remember that there are other pressures on our time and in particular, a long delay is almost inevitable when we are trying to get a catalogue to the printer.
Telephone Valuations: We are currently experiencing an enormous number of valuation enquiries by telephone. When speaking to one of our valuers please try and be as brief as possible and restrict the number of items that you would like to discuss to no more than five.
Written Valuations: We undertake written valuations for insurance, probate or family division. Each valuation is costed on an individual basis and we will be pleased to provide you with a no obligation quote.
Home Visits: We can arrange for one of our valuers to visit your home if required. These visits are usually free of charge providing the book or collection is thought to be of sufficient value (approx. £5,000 or above).
We also hold regular in-house valuation days at our saleroom on the first Monday of each month between 9.30am-5.30pm.
